Competencies in digital information management in university students

Abstract
Introduction: The management of digital information has become a fundamental skill in the current academic and professional environment. Objective: The objective of this research is to describe the competencies in digital information management of university students. Methodology: Quantitative-descriptive research was conducted using a sample of university students. Results: The results revealed that the students possess a moderate level of competencies in digital information management. They face difficulties in areas such as correctly citing information sources, mastering rules and styles for working with references, lacking skills to identify relevant sources, and efficiently organizing and storing digital information. Conclusion: The study highlights the need to include digital information management as an integral part of training programs. Implementing training and support programs is suggested to enhance the students' competencies in this field. General Area of Study: Education.
