Impact of hearing impairment on child development

Abstract
Introduction: This research examines the impact of hearing disability on the communicative and social development of children from 3 to 5 years old. Hearing impairment in childhood is a highly relevant issue, affecting approximately 34 million children worldwide. This condition can cause delays in language development, learning difficulties and social barriers. Objective: Identify the consequences of hearing disability on comprehensive development. Methodology: The research was carried out using a bibliographic methodology based on the review and analysis of specialized literature on the subject, where a comparative analysis of theoretical and clinical approaches to hearing loss was carried out, highlighting the importance of early detection through of neonatal hearing screening programs, such as those implemented in Ecuador. Results: The results indicate that hearing loss can be caused by genetic factors, infections and perinatal complications, and its timely identification is crucial to minimize its negative effects. Conclusion: The conclusion underlines that adequate intervention and the use of hearing technologies are essential to improve the quality of life of affected children.
